The Epiphone Coronet is a vintage classic, adored by collectors for its stripped down yet elegant design. First introduced in 1959 and regarded as one of Epiphone's first solid-body electric guitars, this reissue has brought this iconic model back to life with many of the original traits intact.
This example has a substantial upgrade in the pickup department, with a Lollar P90 installed in the bridge position which delivers a thick and full-bodied sound, well suited to a wide range of genres and playing styles. The lows are rich and warm, whilst the biting top end will ensure that your playing will cut through the mix.
Boasting an all-Mahogany construction, the Epiphone Coronet projects a potent voice that's rich in lows and sizzling with mid-range, while the traditional glued-in neck joint guarantees long, piano-like sustain. The medium "C"-shaped Mahogany neck is comfortable for contemporary and old-school players alike, with a smooth Indian Laurel fingerboard and 22 'Medium Jumbo' frets offering a controllable feel under the fingers.
Epiphone could have easily fitted its reimagined Coronet with modern appointments, but they wanted to retain the spirit of the original by installing vintage-style hardware; for that truly nostalgic look. Sporting a "Lightning Bar" compensated wraparound bridge, ivory-button tuning machines and a white butterfly pickguard with foil "E" logo - this 21st Century Coronet doesn't forget any of its essential late '50s roots.
The guitar is in excellent condition throughout with only minor signs of use. It shows some light finish scratches to the body and headstock, which can only be seen in certain light, and a couple of very small indentations by the jack plate. The frets are in good shape.
