This superb Gibson Les Paul Studio from 2005 is in very good players’ grade condition. We are suckers for the aged gold hardware on these Wine Red Studios, and think this one looks particularly smart with the cream plastics and black speed knobs.
Just about the best guitar this kind of money can buy, the 2005 Gibson Les Paul Studio feels and sounds every bit as good as the modern Standards. This one has a bit of extra punch to it and is an absolute pleasure to play.
It features a one-piece Mahogany body with a two-piece Maple top, a one-piece Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays.
The original Gibson humbuckers in this sound incredible. They are controlled with a three-way switch, two volume pots and two tone pots. The tuners, nut, bridge, and tail-piece are all factory original. The neck is a comfortable C shape.
It is in very good condition throughout. There are no breaks, cracks or repairs. The electrics are spot on and are working perfectly. Cosmetically it shows some dings and light scratches across the guitar and some buckle rash to the reverse of the body. There is a fair bit of checking to the lacquer on the front of the headstock, which is not unusual for Gibsons of this era. The gold hardware is tarnished and aged. The frets are in good shape.
