We love the Gibson Tribute series and were sad when it was recently discontinued. These incredibly classy Gold Tops were always super popular, so we anticipate them becoming quite sought after in the years to come.
This one is in amazing condition throughout with just really light playwear. There are some fine scratches on the reverse of the body and on the pick guard. It is completely original and there are no breaks, cracks or repairs.
When the Les Paul was introduced in 1952, the humbucking pickup didn’t even exist. Instead, the earliest Les Pauls from 1952 to 1956 sported P-90 pickups.
The pickups in this are great. They are lush when played clean, and visceral sounding with a bit of dirt.
The body is crafted from chambered mahogany, joined to a solid carved maple top. It has a rosewood fretboard. The neck is solid mahogany, and cut using a “quarter sawn” orientation which improves strength and resonance. The full 50s neck replicates the vintage specs of the classic era.
Comes in a brand new Tourtech hard case complete with papers.
