Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute, Satin Ebony, 2016
Gibson Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute, Satin Ebony, 2016
This one is a fantastic player! A proper Les Paul in every respect.
When the Les Paul was introduced in 1952, the humbucking pickup didn’t even exist. Instead, the earliest Les Pauls from 1952 to 1956 sported P-90 pickups. Then again, when Gibson first re-released the Goldtop Les Paul in 1968, they once again equipped it with the P-90s.
The pickups in this are great. They are lush when played clean, and visceral sounding with a bit of dirt. The body is crafted from chambered mahogany, joined to a solid carved maple top. The neck is solid mahogany, and cut using a “quarter sawn” orientation which improves strength and resonance. The fast and comfortable SlimTaper neck profile reflects the feel of Les Paul Standards from 1960. The fingerboard may look like rosewood, but is, in fact, baked maple.
Excellent condition throughout. One small ding in the top and a couple of minor nibbles around the edge of the body, which really aren't noticeable.
Comes in an Epiphone branded hard case.
