This is an absolute rock monster! This US-made SG Standard in stunning high gloss nitrocellulose ebony sounds superb and plays beautifully.
In 2014, in celebration of its 120th Anniversary, Gibson USA produced a series of Limited Run guitars, all of which marry classic specs and features with exclusive commemorative details. It has a Grade-A mahogany body and neck, plus a one-piece Grade-A rosewood fingerboard with frets over binding and traditional trapezoid inlays. The holly headstock inlay is joined by a “120th Anniversary” banner at the 12th fret, while the mid-’60s style 5-ply pickguard holds two Gibson’s Classic 57 humbucker pickups. It also features push-pull pots giving you further tonal versatility.
The original tuners have been swapped out for some very smart-looking Grovers; other than that it is in entirely original condition. There no breaks, cracks or repairs. It has been played, so there are some signs of use. The frets are in good shape. There is some buckle-rash to the reverse of the body. There is a very small ding to the front of the body (photo 9) and a couple more at the top of the headstock (photo 16). The neck in super shape.
