This is a very special SG. In 2016, Gibson decided to split the entire six-string lineup into two sections - Traditional and High Performance. The SG High Performance Standard is a modern rocker cloaked in classic SG outfit and with classic Gibson tone.
As you would expect from an SG, the body is made entirely of mahogany, it is of lightweight construction with a beveled top and a large (black, of course) pickguard and is paired with a rounded mahogany neck. The HP though features a number of awesome specs for the modern player. It has fast access heel in the back and a rounded, wider soloists neck profile intended to give more room for big bends and tapping than the traditional LP neck width.
The Fingerboard is equipped with a 1.745" zero-fret nut made of titanium, trapezoid inlays and 12" radius. Modern/Vintage 490R in neck position and 498T in bridge position deliver a versatile tone, covering all the bases from vintage blues to modern hard rock.
Other premium features include: titanium bridge saddles, robotic G Force tuners, noiseless pickup switch, gold plated output jack and titanium-made zero fret nut.
The condition is great. There are no breaks, cracks or repairs and the frets are in good nick. The only dings of any note are the obvious ones at the bass of the body, and on the back of the top of the headstock which should be clear from the photos. Other than that there is are just some light scratches to the pick guard.
The original robot tuners have been replaced with a good quality vintage set. Other than that it is entirely original.
It comes in an aluminium hard case, which is one of the greatest things I have ever seen, but also ridiculously heavy. If you don't get on with it you could always move it on, as they go for £150+ on the used market.
