Gibson Les Paul Special Faded Double Cutaway 2005, Satin Ebony
Now discontinued, the Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut is rock n’ roll monster! Sporting a pair of powerful P90 pickups, and in striking satin ebony, the rarest of the finishes, this is a guitar that feels and sounds as good as it looks.
The build quality on this era Gibson era is fantastic and this is a much better guitar that the DC Specials coming out of the Cutom Shop in 2024.The body and neck are made from Mahogany. The fretboard is Rosewood. The slim taper neck feels really comfortable to play.
The sound is beautifully balanced. The neck pickup is very warm yet clear. The bridge is very clear and with a bit of gain, you get that famous Les Paul lead tone. The middle setting is sounds a lot like a Telecaster, almost bell-like.
This awesome guitar is in excellent condition throughout and is 100% original. It has been played, and shows light signs of use, but nothing in any way substantial. There are some light scratches to the pickguard and a few further difficult to spot light scratches to the reverse of the body. There is a small ding to the front of the body, at the lower bout which you can see in the photos, but you really have to be looking for it to spot it. The frets are in great shape.
